Come back to OC for the third Annual Boardwalk Reunion – October 15th, 2022!

Mark your calendars now and save the date for the second annual Boardwalk Reunion at Ocean City, New Jersey on Saturday, October 17th, 2020.   The Porsche Club of America Zones 1 & 2, supported by the 356 Registry are jointly hosting this new and exciting event, which in 2021 brought just over 300 Porsches to  ‘America’s Greatest Family Resort’ on the South Jersey shore.  Boardwalk Reunion is more than just a laidback cars and coffee on the Boards- it’s a unique opportunity to drive up onto and display your Porsche on one of New Jersey’s most iconic Boardwalks against an ocean backdrop that is simply spectacular.  You’ll be able to meet and socialize with Porsche owners from across the Mid-Atlantic region,  and  savor Ocean City at its most beautiful and peaceful time of the year.   We’ll marshal at Ocean City’s Municipal Airport at 9 AM, depart at 11 AM under police escort, and then park and hang out on the mile long Boardwalk until 4:00 PM.  Many Boardwalk shops and eateries will be open, and the pristine beaches are just on the other side of the boardwalk railing.  Saturday night will be a Dinner and Social at one of the New Jersey shore’s most historic hotels- the charming Flanders Hotel.   We have a weekend room block at the Flanders for attendees at 20% off the usual rates (mention the Reunion!).  Registration fees will be minimal and announced at a later date- we would like everyone to enjoy this event for what it is:  a low key Porsche gathering “Down the Shore” at Ocean City at the height of autumn.

10/22/18 –  The Holiday was spectacular!  Thanks to everyone who helped make it a huge success.  Today Bob and I were back at work, and some folks are still traveling home, but I think we all are still smiling from the good times.

Here are some links you might enjoy:

OCNJDaily.com – a great article and interviews from participants on the event, including sponsor Fernando Lopez!

Tidal Wave, our Welcome Party band, has photos up on their page – check out the East Coast Holiday photos – there are about 100 of them!

Do you Instagram?  LOTS of great photos there too.

Keep the Faith!

10/16/18 – The weather…. we met with the city today and the Concours/Car Show on Saturday is a go.  The weather report has improved over the course of the day, and we will go on rain or shine.  Due to other events and scheduling difficulties, it is not possible to re-schedule, so we will carry on!  Good news:  our Saturday Tech Sessions are inside or under cover. 🙂  See you soon!

10/16/18 – We are here and have some great volunteers already helping to prep for registration!  The first 356’s have arrived in the parking lot and it’s starting to look like a Holiday. 🙂  Trailer Parking update – there is a section of the parking lot coned off, but you can enter on any side of the old Chevy dealership and park in any location except the coned-off portion.  You may also enter from Simpson Street.  You will see trailers there already!  If you have any difficulties after hours or after dark you can call the Police Duty Desk and they are able to help – 609-525-9142

10/13/18 – The news is that some of the Florida contingent has already left – it is starting!  We are here at home receiving and packing some of the great items for your goodie bags, and getting entrant packets stuffed.  I have heard that there is some movement with room reservations, so it wouldn’t hurt to call the Flanders if you still would like to stay there.  Remember, volunteers are always welcome during the ECH, especially on Saturday for staging the Concours/Car Show and helping at the membership booth on the Boardwalk, and also anytime during registration.  Thanks and see you soon!

10/4/18 – The Welcome Party menu and Awards Banquet menu have been posted on the Events/Banquets page.  Looks delicious!  Don’t forget the Welcome Party features an awesome beach party band “Tidal Wave”.  Look for some great 50’s and 60’s tunes – cars themed!

10/3/18 – Two weeks… an update email went out tonight with some more details and information.  Looking forward to a great event, and see you soon.  Remember any changes must be made by October 9th!

9/26/18 – Three weeks to go!  If you are already registered, please check the email address that you submitted with your registration for periodic updates.  Also, check the FAQ page on this website.  If you have any changes on your registration, such as additional meals or tours, please be sure to make them as soon as possible, with October 9th as a deadline.  Late registration is still open if you have not registered yet.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

9/12/18 – Registration is still open, but don’t delay if you want to select the correct size for your button-front event shirt – orders must go in soon!  There are updates posted on the FAQ page and Events and Activities.  Keep checking back for new and updated information.

8/27/18 – Friday, August 31st is the last day to register without a late fee, so don’t delay.  Plans are now proceeding rapidly, and there are many updates to the website, including the FAQ’s.  If you need to reserve a room, check out the Accommodations page for quite a few reasonable options.

8/12/18 – Schedule updates are here! (go to the Schedule tab)  We spent this past week in Ocean City finalizing the events and venues, and are getting very excited.  Remember, to avoid a late fee, please complete your registration by August 31st at https://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/8830

7/29/18 –  Check out the updated schedule on the Schedule Tab – the Goodie Store will have extended hours and we are adding Tech Sessions.  The self-guided Tours look great; you will not want to miss visiting Cape May, NJ, with lovely Victorian “Painted Ladies”, winery tours and craft brew pubs, lighthouses, shopping and more…..

7/20/18 – Summer is here and the heat is on – but the crisp fall air awaits us in Ocean City this October!  Now is the time to register, and we hope to hear from you before the end of August, when the rates must go up.  Keep checking the Flanders for cancellations, but there are excellent alternate choices listed under the Accommodations tab.  We are planning some great items for your Goodie Bag, have some amazing tours set up for you, and the Tech Sessions are going to be stellar this year.  Yes, Rennsport Reunion will be spectacular, but if you can’t get there (and even if you can), don’t miss the East Coast Holiday in Ocean City, NJ.

6/21/18 – Welcome to Summer!  The beach scene at Ocean City is in full swing, and now is the time to think about the great weather and fun times in October… hope to see you there!

5/21/18 – Look for changes on the Schedule and FAQ pages.  Exciting new additions are not two, but THREE Seminars/Tech Sessions from Registry members/sponsors on Concours Day at the Music Pier – there will be lots to do and see on Saturday!  Also, now that spring is finally here, ECH Logo T-shirts are on sale – check it out on the FAQ page!

As of May 14th, registration has reached 136 entrants, with 242 members and guests, and 113 Porsche 356’s scheduled to be “On the Boardwalk”.  We are looking forward to a great event!  There are many excellent lodging options still available and plenty of room in all the Holiday events and dinners.  Do you want to know who is going?  For those who have registered, you may log back in to your “Dashboard” and click on “View Roster” to see the entire list of attendees; additionally there is a drop-down menu to see who has registered for various activities like dinners and tours. Check our Sponsor page periodically to see all our generous sponsors who are helping to make the ECH happen!

We have arranged preferred rates at several alternate hotels.  Three are within 1-2 short blocks of the Flanders and the Boardwalk – a quick and easy walk to and from the activities!  Rates range from $102 plus tax for a hotel room to $119 plus tax for a 1-bedroom suite with kitchen to $133 plus tax for a deluxe hotel room right along the Boardwalk.

There are abundant rooms/suites still available within our room blocks at the four hotels listed on the Alternate Lodging page (see map), and more available should we need them.  There are also many other options, such as B&B’s and privately owned condos through HomeAway and AirBnB.  Please contact the Registrar if you have any housing concerns.
